(Dallas.CityRegions.Com, September 15, 2015 ) Sherman, Texas -- A Cut Above Cutlery announced today that the company's latest addition to their line of kitchen cutlery, a carving set, is available for sale on Amazon.
Company Founder, Theron Andrews said that the company is excited to be able to bring this set to market just in time for the Thanksgiving and Christmas Holiday season. "Here in the U.S., we have a wonderful holiday tradition of enjoying fine, home cooked meals with our family and friends. A big part of that tradition at my house centers around roast turkey," Mr. Andrews explained. "And every year, I wish I had a great carving set to make the preparation complete. This year, with the launch of A Cut Above Cutlery, I knew I'd have to add a special carving set to the line that would really make that final step in the holiday meal process complete."
"I'm really proud to bring this particular set to market," Mr. Andrews continued. "It's not only an extremely fine, high quality knife set, but it is also absolutely beautiful. It will make an impression on the family and friends this year when I pull it out to carve our Thanksgiving and Christmas turkeys!", he said.
The set includes an 8-Inch Carving Knife and a matching Fork, both with wooden handles. The fork in the set features tines that are a full 8 inches in length, designed to safely hold large turkeys, roasts and hams in place for carving. They are packaged together in a gift box that is suitable for storage as well, according to Mr. Andrews.
Mr. Andrews finished by talking about a special bonus he's including with the carving set. "I have to admit that personally, I learned to carve a turkey by trial-and-error. And I think a lot of people are probably like me. So when I started designing this carving set, I knew I wanted to try to make the process a little easier. That's why we're including a special e-book with every purchase that details how to carve a turkey. It fits with my vision of making A Cut Above Cutlery about bringing the fun back to cooking with great tools and a little advice here and there."
The e-book Mr. Andrews mentioned will also be posted on the company's website as part of the the company's ongoing blog A Blog Above. .
Although A Cut Above Cutlery touts their Carving Set as a great choice for carving the traditional Thanksgiving Turkey, turkey itself has not always been the meat of choice for Thanksgiving dinner. Historians generally agree that turkey was not on the menu back in 1621 at the "first Thanksgiving". In fact, venison was likely the protein of choice for the Pilgrims and the Wampanoag Indians, served with a variety of local produce.
The likely force behind promoting turkey to it's modern place of honor at the table was Sarah Josepha Hale (1788-1879). She's best known as a writer, with "Mary Had A Little Lamb" to her credit, but she was also an advocate to have Thanksgiving declared a National Holiday. And in 1863, Abraham Lincoln made it so.
